The new term

It is the start of the new term, and as usual the holiday did not seem long enough. I have completed my website design assignment but I was uncertain upon what I was supposed to be writing about. It is far from being perfect and unfortunately I can not credit it as an assignment I am proud of.

I am starting to get back into the rhyme of the term but I wish I had more time in the evenings to visit my university friends before their holidays end.

It is the Christmas holidays and I am currently enjoying meeting up with all my friends. Most of my friends decided to go to university in September 2006. This has meant that I have been unable to talk to them probably for three months. I am surprised how little they have changed in the period they have been away and we still get on really well. However I have found that the only way I wish to spend my holiday is in socializing, this is all very well but I still have an assignment to write, Christmas shopping and family events.

The last week of term! I am genuinely excited about the Christmas holidays as I am looking forward to seeing all my friends that have been at university since September and I am also looking forward to the return of my big brother, who has also been attending university.

I am all prepared for Christmas as I have decorated the living room and bought all my presents. I was looking forward to a relaxed holiday; however we have just been given an assignment to do over the holidays that has a deadline of the first week back after the holidays. However I plan to try and do the majority of it before the holidays start so that I have more time to enjoy myself.

Feeling really tired this week and this are going wrong. On Tuesday my bike chain slipped, not realizing this as I am not mechanically minded I had to push my bike to college for about two and a half miles in the rain and wind and of course I was also late.

I am also having problems with my classes, my work will not save and my program had an unbelievable 98 errors! We also had spot tests that gave me a bit of a shock as I could not remember everything covered in the term or how to explain what we do on the computers in words.

PowerPoint Disaster!

This has been an unsatisfactory day. My task was to complete a PowerPoint presentation about vegetables. I have allocated a long time to this task, in preparing the information needed and trying to make the presentation look exciting. However having not been taught how to produce a spectacular looking presentation, I was therefore unable to achieve the quality that was expected of me. I tried to do the task to the fullest extent of my knowledge, but in truth I do not yet know all the functions that are available to me while using this software.

I am currently experimenting with different web tools freely available upon the internet. I have started to experiment with Sitekreator. This is a program that allows you to create your own websites and publish them upon the net. After the introductory window, very little information about how to use the program is available. However with a bit of experimenting you can generally work out how to use the different function of the website designer. I have found that the last week has led me to be rather concerned. I know that many assignments are on their way but I hoped that they would be fairly spread out, but now I am not sure if they will be. I was told that I would have six assignments before Christmas and at the moment I have only received one. This means that potentially I could have to do five assignments to complete in around a month. This makes me a little anxious that I may not have enough time to complete all the assignments to the highest standard possible.

First assignment

I have got my first assignment for my computer course. This is for software installation and it involves extensive research into software licenses, software piracy and the registration of software. At first it seemed a daunting task as I have no information about these areas. However after doing the research I feel that I will be able to tackle this task. I started by trying to interpret the exact information that the question requires. After that I planned my answer and wrote out the answer in rough. I then started typing it up and making alterations where needed. The work is now checked and ready to be looked at by my software installation teacher. I am a bit concerned about the outcome as I know so little about computing but I feel a lot is expected of me due to academic results in the past. It makes me feel a little pressured.
